Dr.
Richard Parker began his practice of
Plastic Surgery with a goal
of excellence in patient care and in surgical results. His goal
began as a founder of The Central Texas Cleft Palate Team and
continued as a founder of
Austin Smiles and has culminated in
being recognized in Texas Monthly as one of Texas Top Cosmetic
Surgeons and Nationally in America's Top Doctors.Dr. Parker's
undergraduate study was completed at Baylor University with
medical school at University of Texas Medical Branch and surgery
residency in Galveston and San Antonio. His plastic surgery
residency was completed in Kansas City, Missouri and he became
board certified in plastic surgery in 1976. He was the founder
of the Central Texas Cleft Palate Team, which today is one of
the most active teams in Texas treating children with cleft lip
and palate deformities. This love of helping children became
international in 1987 as one of the founders of
Austin Smiles.
Austin Smiles has helped over 4,000 children with cleft lip and
palate deformities. Dr. Parker has participated in over 20
missions to six countries.
Dr. Parker founded Grandview Cosmetic Surgery and Laser
Center, which was the first ambulatory surgery center dedicated
to cosmetic surgery in
Austin.
Grandview Surgery center has now
become Meridian Surgery Center under new ownership, where
excellence in patient care and safety has been continued. Dr.
Parker continues to operate and care for his patients at
Meridian Surgery Center.
Dr. Parker has performed only cosmetic surgery since 1994 and
is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic
Surgery. Treating patients, "as if they are my own" and knowing,
"the difference between good and excellence is an infinite
capacity for details" has enabled Dr. Richard Parker to achieve
